Transformation: Breaking Free From the Old

Spring is here! The "new" in the change of seasons from winter to spring is about transformation. One of the ways you can view transformation is like this: The death of the old and the beginning of the new.

This is the key theme in the cycle of winter—the leaves let go of all their leaves to take time to regenerate for spring when new leaves and flowers blossom.

The affirmation card I pulled from my She Shines deck today says this: “I’m ready to let go of ALL the things that no longer serve me.” I love this card (well, I love ALL my cards).

Every time I pull this card, I truly stop and think about the next thing I need to let go to be truly free so I can be incredible me.

Why Shed?

Another word for “letting go” is shedding—the old, the things that hold you back, old perspectives, old clothes that no longer fit, relationships past their due dates, roles that we’ve outgrown, old environments, etc.

When do you know it is time to shed something? Here are a few signs:

  • No peace

  • Feeling drained

  • Feeling out of alignment

  • No more joy

  • Friction in spirit

  • Resentment

  • Resistance

  • Feels heavy

  • Takes rather than gives

When we don’t let go of the things that don’t serve us, at the appropriate time, here are some consequences:

  • Burnout

  • Losing momentum on the good

  • Stress

  • Self-sabotage

  • Messy letting go

To embrace this new season, you first have to shed the old. You can’t put new wine in old wine skins, right?

Same with ourselves. We can’t attract or embody the “new” when we’re still attached to the old.

Creating New Narratives

So much of what I do with clients in myUnveil Your Brilliance programis helping them see the old, no longer serving thought patterns that have trapped them, so they can finally break free.

In Unveil Your Brilliance, I am doing this constantly - questioning the thoughts that keep you small, hidden, or not as brilliant as you are or can be.

 Questions like:

  • Are you absolutely sure that is true?

  • What is another way of looking at this situation?

  • What does your intuition say about this?

  • What if the situation is even better than you imagine?

  • What would the most empowered version of you think about this?

A good coach asks thought-provoking, illuminating, and sometimes challenging questions that make you consider and see things from a different lens.

They ask questions that get you to see things differently than you ever have before and slowly (sometimes pretty quickly!) the old narratives that have been running in your mind creating your reality begin to expire, replaced by far more upgraded ones that take you to a whole new level of experience.

This is one of the aspects of my brilliance I bring when you work with me. We go through my unique KNOW>SHOW>GLOW framework to get you where you long to be in your life. I help you embrace and embody a new posture that allows you to rise and thrive in ALL areas of your life.

If you’re truly ready to level up into a new, healthier posture that breaks you free from old baggage, reach out to me to explore how I can support you.

To your continued unveiling!
