When Success Doesn’t Feel Like Enough
There’s a pattern I see in so many women.
It doesn’t always look obvious.
From the outside, they are accomplished. Trusted. Positioned in rooms they once aspired to be in. They are doing meaningful work and making an impact.
And yet… internally, there is a quiet tension.
A subtle questioning.
A need to get it right.
A pressure to prove they belong there.
Not because they aren’t capable.
But because something deeper is still driving them.
This is why I dedicated an entire chapter in my book “It’s Your Time to Shine Girl” to imposter syndrome.
Because it impacts more women than we realize—especially as we grow, elevate, and become more visible.
It doesn’t always show up as “I don’t belong.”
Sometimes it sounds like:
“Let me just prepare a little more.”
“I want to make sure this is perfect.”
“I’ll speak up once I’m 100% sure.”
It can look like overworking.
Overthinking.
Over-delivering.
And underneath it all is the same pattern:
The need to prove your worth.
Many of us learned, consciously or not, that our value is reinforced through performance. Through getting it right. Through exceeding expectations.
These are some patterns we explored this week in my Whole Woman Collective cohort. Because the truth is, they can be pervasive and we can be operating from this place to prove our worth without recognizing it.
And that pattern can follow us—even into spaces we’ve already earned our way into.
But here’s the truth I want you to sit with:
You don’t need to earn what has already been entrusted to you.
You don’t need to prove what is already evident.
You don’t need to perfect yourself to be worthy of the space you’re in.
Releasing self-doubt is not about becoming more confident overnight.
It’s about recognizing where you are still trying to validate yourself… and choosing to relate to yourself differently.
It’s about shifting from:
proving → embodying
performing → trusting
striving → standing
Because when you stop trying to prove your worth…
you start leading from it.
And everything changes.
If this resonates, I want you to pay attention to where this pattern is still showing up for you.
Not with judgment. But with awareness.
That’s where the shift begins.
If you know you struggle with imposter syndrome or the need to prove your worth, I invite you to consider getting a copy of my book, “It’s Your Time to Shine Girl”.
One of my clients is currently reading it and she keeps sharing how tremendously helpful it has been for her. Imposter Syndrome is just one of 12 chapters, al dedicated to helping you embrace your brilliance to the full extent!
